Cohort data
Details of NIBN JMD data
The NIBN JMD contains gut microbiota data collected by NIBN, along with lifestyle data (phenotypic metadata) such as diet, nutrient intake, and physical activity. We plan to add data from case-control studies and intervention studies in the future. For gut microbiota data, we have 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and shotgun metagenome sequencing data (4,578 and 4,302 samples, respectively). A part of this data is publicly available as NIBN JMD (Public). For more details, please refer to Chen et al. (2025) Scientific Reports 15(1):19640.

Phenotype metadata
NIBN JMD contains various phenotypic metadata such as diet, nutrient intake, exercise habits, etc. Details can be seen from the link below. Some of these data are open to the public on NIBN JMD (public). Other data are only provided to joint research institutions that have been approved for research ethics review.
NIBN JMD(Public)
NIBN JMD (Public) contains gut microbiota data from 2,273 samples of 2,068 individuals (1,159 females and 909 males) from nine regions (Minamiuonuma, Niigata; Shinjuku, Tokyo; Minato, Tokyo; Atsugi, Kanagawa; Chuo, Yamanashi; Osaka, Osaka; Suita, Osaka; Shunan, Yamaguchi; Nagato, Yamaguchi) of Japan, along with data on region, age, sex, diet, and nutrient intake. These data are open to the public using integrated analysis platform MANTA.
